Truck parking remains a critical but often overlooked issue in the logistics and transportation industry. Despite advancements in technology and infrastructure, finding a suitable parking spot continues to be a significant challenge for truck drivers across the United States. According to Freight Waves article "US House bill includes $200M for truck parking", released on July 1st of 2024, A U.S. department of Transportation study found that 98% of truck drivers regularly experience difficulty in locating safe parking. The number in itself is shocking. Nearly all truck drivers face this issue daily, yet the average person likely doesn't even know there is an issue.Two notable factors in the charge to create new truck parking was U.S. Representative Steve Womack, a Republican member of Congress from Arkansas and the Biden Administration. Congressman Womack received $200 million in funding from a funding bill on transportation and the Biden Administration announced $80 million in grants to improve a multitude of issues like improved highway safety and truck parking.
